hey guys looking to get rid of my D35 and on the hunt for c8.25 i dont have the time to hit the JY so let me know what you guys have. I need it to have 3.55 gears and open.

I'm planning on going to the JY in Wilmington tomorrow to scavenge some Crown Vic brakes. I'll let you know if I see any axles worth pulling. What year is the break for the 29 spline?

all 99 and up XJs should have the 29 spline 8.25 rear end as long as it's not a d35. if it has a tow hitch on it 99% of the time it will not have a d35 under it. when are you going? I may tag along if it's early in the AM.

hmm, maybe i'll try to make it out. what yard is this again? I think the break on the 29spline is 96 and up...


and completely forgot it NEEDS to be a 29 spline rear end.

google dug up this info ( on naxja go figure lol )

(Note on 8.25 axles - none of these axles were used on XJs with ABS brakes. If you have ABS, you have the Dana 35. Without ABS you could have either axle. 8.25 axles are c-clip)

Dana 35 non c-clip - 27 spline, 1.18" diameter shafts, 7.58" ring gear, 2.62" axle tube - used 84-89
Dana 35 c-clip - 27 spline, 1.18" diameter shafts, 7.58" ring gear, 2.62" axle tube - used 90-01
Chrysler 8.25 - 27 spline, 1.17" diameter shafts, 8.25" ring gear, 3" axle tube - used 91-96
Chrysler 8.25 - 29 spline, 1.21" diameter shafts, 8.25" ring gear, 3" axle tube - used 97-01

When I went Friday there wasn't any 97-up XJ in either of the Wilmington Pick a Part yards. There is a burned up H2 in the primo section and 3 Outlaw II 15x7 wheels on a white XJ by the radio tower.

last weekend there was a 99+ in the north side yard just north of the oil pump or whatever the hell that is that's fenced off over in the truck/van section.

At the Wilmington Ecology right now, there are to XJ44's here. One's on a navy blue and wood waggy, the other is on a red pioneer. Sitting right across from each other in the far back corner.
