WTB - Atlas transfer case or 241 OR

this would be the cheapest low range option for what you are talking about... unless you can find a smoking deal on a used atlas.

you can get np241's for about 900 if you look around for 10 minutes. i know Turn Key in oceanside gets them fairly frequently and sells them for 899 on craigslist. maybe give them a call. i know they just sold one about 2 weeks ago.
even carparts.com has them for 650 quite often, but shipping usually brings it up to about 900.

those are 241j's from a jk, which i believe bolt up but i think there are issues with the speedo, so you may have to mess with the sensor. but there is one for almost 1k less than the other one linked on here. if you get a tj one i believe they work fine, but cost a little more. they have those on that site too.

Thanks for the info! I'm finding that the more I search the better the deals get. I'm just hoping maybe with a bit more searching and some luck timing, maybe I can find a good deal on an Atlas. That's what I'd really like to have and I'm willing to pay a little more for it, but its seems to be harder to find. I will check into the contacts you gave me above when I get to work tomorrow because the 241 will work just fine for my wheeling. Thanks again for the info!

no worries. let us know how it goes.... i've called some of the places on car-parts.com for pricing but never purchased anything from there.

they have been getting cheaper, 1500 wasnt too bad a while ago when i first started looking. they've been going down now that there are a ton of jk's out there.
looks like he just lowered the price to 800, which is a killer price, havent seen one locally for that price yet. if i only had the coin.......

I did lower the price. Dan schooled me and showed me the light. Last I heard these things were priceless. Man how times change.

I know a guy with a 2 speed atlas for sale, I think he is looking for $2k for it.

There are a couple on Pirate right now too...

I'd be interested in more info on the Atlas your friend has for sale.

Also, does anyone know if I need to change drive shafts whichever route I go? I currently have a stock NP231 with AA SYE and Tom Woods rear drive shaft. Can I use my existing rear drive shaft with the 241OR? Same length? I think I need a new yoke for the front. What about with the Atlas? Maybe I need to move this to the modified tech forum?
