i'm in the process of doing a kp d60 i couldn't find a 78-79 so i ordered brand new hosing with tubes and Cs built to 78-79 specs thats probably going to be your best bet

your both aware that you can use a 86-91 housing

yep im aware but my jeep is so lifted that when using a ford d60 the pinion and caster are so off that you cant drive it on the street because when u setup the correct caster the pinion is so off it binds the u joint and vibrates like crazy and vise versa. thats why i ordered a new housing setup with the caster and pinion angles for my size lift. you could also cut the Cs off and rotate

I know I can but like stated above, the short side in the 78-79 is longer.
