I know they're on the rare side but I really want a nice stocker to be my DD :sure:

it'd be a big help if you guys keep an eye out and let me know if you see one. ax-15 and 4 doors in the $2000 range in the sacramento area. but I will travel to get a good one. thanks

thats not bad. id bring 1250 but id start the bidding at 850$ and point out all the issues with the thing.

isn't 1990 a renix engine? I though HO was introduced in 91

I saw that one and it looks like more of a project than I want. my price range is more like $2500 now. I'm looking for a clean DD that's ready to go. good looking out though I know they're few and far between but I have to be picky about my next xj

now my question is, why XJ? if I were looking for a DD id go with more of a commuter car. I just borrowed my dads 97 Saturn SL2 for the weekend so I could save some gas on my trip down to San Luis Obispo to see my girlfriend. Averaged 32mpg over 320 miles (one way from SLO to sac) at 75-80 MPH average.

Other than knowing your way around the XJ platform, I dont see a reason to buy one as a DD.

because I easily see my blue one falling to pieces over the next couple years. I'd love to have a fresh body that's ready to roll by then. xj's are worth it to me regardless of gas price. had a 34mpg hwy civic for awhile and it's nice but just not the same. early models are quickly becoming extinct I want to have at least one more nice one. I've got my whole life to drive a commuter why start now

So you come down to visit your gf, but do not let any of your jeep friends know you are in town.. I see how it is! Ha. Just playin.
When I had a mostly stock 4L/5spd I easily got 25+ mpg highway. Yes, 32mpg is BETTER. But it's a saturn!
Altho, I can say much. I drive an old rust 73 beetle that has purple flames ( was my step-sisters vehicle), that my dad gave me, to battle the raising fuel prices.

Hit up jam86 on norcal his gf parents have a clean 98 5 speed they were askin 3 k for you could get for 25 28 one time owner its in paterson

Not sure i'd choose and xj for a dd. I just drove my roomates Mercury grand marquee (cop car) to fresno this weekend and that thing got 27.8 mpg's the whole way down, still had v8 power when needed and was a damn comfortable ride. 70 Year olds know what the eff they're doing.
But dd's preferences all subjective and one great thing about xj's, aside from gas cost, is that they do make really good dd's.

I'd stick with an HO.

damn I wish the late model xj's interior weren't pure uglyness :puke:
that's not a bad deal. I don't have 3k quite yet though I'm sitting on about 2 so if they'll take that done deal lol

98 5 spd? 4x4 or 2x4? how many miles?
just curious.

thing sounds like a deal
