Has anyone gone to crossover steering and not relocated their track bar right away? If so how well did it work ? It's my understanding that I will have bump steer if I do this.
I'm building steering with 7/8's heims. I want to build my crossover steering now, but don't have time to relocate my trackbar before KOH. Just wondering if I do go with crossover, if it'll be driveable at all.
I've heard enough people say "it works just fine!" to make me believe that yes, it's driveable. Just the same, you'll be introducing some bump steer because the drag link moved but the TB didn't
Before I went to WJ, I went to cross-over steering on XJ knuckles. I did raise the track-bar but not enough. It was only about 1" too low... and it was downright scary to drive.
Unwisely, I DID drive San Diego to the Bay Area that way and made it alive, but it was white knuckle the whole way. I had to try to anticipate every bump and be ready to correct.
