Will it ever end???

OK... so I'm not sure how many of you remember me mentioning that I crushed my finger (middle, right hand) while working on rear suspension. It is finally growing back and it's about 1/4" away from reaching it's natural length... but now there is another problem.... to the left side of it, it has decided to start growing into the finger: not sure how to describe it but it kind of took a sharp turn downward into the finger itself. I felt something there before, but it didn't bother me too much... now today, as of about 2 hours ago, it got past annoying  I'm considering seeing some doctor or something as I don't think it's meant to do what it's doing.... has anyone experienced something like that before??

" Will it ever end?"

NO!

You got a picture or something? I am not sure I understand your description.... do you have a finger growing out of your finger?

And no... It never ends.
BTW.. See a Doc.

Hmm no digi cam here, plus it's hard to see with the naked eye as it is... for a better description, imagine this: the nail is somewhat flat although curved... now the left edge of it (one on the side of the thumb) that goes along the finger edge, is not somewhat flat, it curves at 90 degrees... downard towards the side of the fingerprit part of the finger.... now since it is trying to reach it THROUGH the finger itself it's somewhat painful.... and yeah I thinnk I will have to take tomorrow of as it seems to be getting worse and worse...

See a sawbones post-haste.

See Steve Bones ASAP. :D

Or, as I said.... go see a doctor. Hopefully, they won't have to saw yer bones though.

Try posting this one on the Mod board, I'm pretty sure they would sugest a Plasma cutter or something of that nature could fix that pestky finger :D

Because if you just use a grinder with a cut wheel or even saws all. 1. it would just be too messy and second you'll need to stop the bleeding.

With a plasma cutter, it will instantly cauterize your finger preventing you from bleeding to death.

Tomorrow night I expect a full write up with pictures so we all can do the same thing. :puke:

So basically you have an ingrown nail now. Why not just clip it. Next to that see the MD.

I lost my nail when it got crushed then pulled off by 500lbs of sheetrock. One of the more physically painful experiences in my life...and Ive broken a few things...but that one was way up there. The nail held on at the cuticle then kind started to grow vertially, then finally fell off when the brand new pristine nail pushed it off. Today the finger looks 100%

YEAH :D
Actually I was more curious on whether anyone has had any experience with a similar problem.... as in general I don't like going to a doctor: damn quacks always try to talk you into being sick or something LOL: Last time I took an annual exam or whatever that thing was called, I was told that I need to go on a diet ?!?! and those of you who have met me should know where my surprise at that statement comes from LOL

P.S. XJGuy... it's not the old nail part that's doing it... it's the new nail

So cut it out!

It will hurt for a while more than when you smashed it but atleast you won't be letting it get worst and have to go to the docs. I have a chop saw at the shop if you need any help. :D

Cut it!

I mashed a finger between 2 folding chairs....NO it will never be normal, YES you will always have to watch and trim it.
Look at the bright side...in an serious accident it is a good way to ID your remains.

Rev (smashed ring finger, left hand) Den

If it really bothers you a lot someone might loan you a sawzall -

Sorry -:D

Really, no one likes injuries, like having a spring compressor let go and breaking the middle finger on the left hand. Have it looked at for peace of mind.

If it would cheer you up I could tell you about why I use "Tirod" for my screen name. ( It's not about steering linkage. )

Of course I wasn't too smart about it :anon:

well... what really sucks about this that over thanksgiving weekend I was planning on putting in arms arm and lifting my XJ a bit.. and well.. this will make it harder :(

:

Be sure to insert a steel rod into the finger first. Then establish a good solid ground. With out these the plasma cutter may only scare the poor finger.

I know exactly how you feel!

I was nailing electrical boxes on studs and hit my left thumb with the hammer. It knocked half the nail off. I was way the heck out in the country so I wrapped some toilet paper around to stop the bleeding and went into town to see my buddy the Doc. He shot it full on anesthetic (VERY painful) and then took a hemostat and finshed pulling the nail off. ten minutes AFTER I left his office the thumb finally went to sleep!
