Where do you guys get your gears?

You know...

One of your very own sells gears too... :wave1:

And Rock Solid Off Road is now accepting Credit Cards!!!

I used to buy Genuine G2 gears, but I don't get that good of a deal on them any more so I have started using and selling A LOT of Nitro stuff. I have been extremely satisfied with every set I have installed, set up has always been smooth and never had any whine.

I won't sell Yukon gears even if it meant I'd go out of business. I have had a lot of bad luck with them.

Ok then I'm gonna call you out haha what can you sell me a full set of thick 4.56 gears for a stock 97 Dana 30 HP and a 87 stock XJ Dana 44 both full master re-build kit? If you can beat $566 shipped then you have my business sir. I love supporting small businesses but money is very precious these days in my household so every penny saved really helps out.

I have to call on a set of gears for a new JK Tomorrow so ill ask about yours too. Ill shoot you a PM with a price sometime tomorrow after I talk to them.

Thats funny, the One and ONLY complaint I know of from a customer, and I monitor it very closely, and it gets brought up.

Read that complaint well, if your going to reference it.

I never misrepresented a product. But when the customer got overly pissy, I offered to refund his $ for the items he bought and knew what he was getting since he saw the invoice prior to paying, and told him to Keep the items! show me another store that would do that for you?

Called on prices...

Almost 100% sure I can easily beat the price quoted for you, and that's WITH A BRAND NEW front carrier because Nitro doesn't make thick 4.56 gears for a HPD30.

For the rear, do you need thick cut or standard thickness gears? Once I know this I can get you a set price shipped to your door.

BTW, is RWKHaus Supply not a vendor any more?

I won't sell Yukon gears even if it meant I'd go out of business. I have had a lot of bad luck with them.

Nope no longer a donation vendor here, to many politics.

And please explain what luck?

Do you know Yukon is the ONLY gear supplier that has a state side full QC dept. And they are the only importer (they all import by the way), that actually checks the quality of the products here in the USA after they make it here.

They dont rely on the factory over seas to just supply with a quality product. But they actually have personel over seas on site over seeing the manufacturing, as well as the state side sampling and QC of the products.

Your Nitro's just box and sell. and then good luck with warranty.

Hell for 8 months a D30 gear set by them would not install in with a ARB due to manufacturing issues, but they would not warranty it and they blamed ARB.

Nitro axles can twist the splines and they will tell you, sorry its not broken. Yukon & Ten Factory, both warranty it without question.

I know this is all new to you, and your prolly new to drivetrain, but I have been in this game for quite a while...

Im not here to argue with you... and new to this game, I am not. I have been in this business for over 12 years and in business for 5 of those. I have installed countless sets of gears in all types of axles, and the one manufacturer that has had more problems than anybody else for me is Yukon. Very rarely have I been able to get a nice set-up pattern without many tries and countless set-up hours. Then, while I have never seen a set that was broken, I have had a few come backs with complaint of gear whine. To this day, I have never had these issue with either Nitro Gear or G2 brand. But I as stated above, I get a better deal on the Nitro stuff and have had no issues, so I use them more now. Not to mention the Nitro Gear setup kits are far more complete and come with all the needed "little" parts such as axle shaft seals and oil slingers.

A freind of mine owns a performance hot rod shop and has been setting up gears for over 25 years, and he will agree that Yukon and Motive are the worst gears on the market. It doesn't mean crap where your QC is at or how it is done if the parts are still garbage.

Besides, what's it matter to you? I wasn't taking shots at you or anything you said. I was just curious as to why you weren't blue any more, that's all. No need to get all I'll or start defending Yukon like you own them. I am just stating my own personal experiences with the brand. if you have had better "luck" than I have had with them, then great, but I am solely speaking for myself here.
