ok, I'm thinking of making a stroker engine as i see it everyone is staying around 4.7. Is 4.8,4.9 to much of a overkill for a cherokee? I'm thinking it's becuase of weight to power ratio. I want to make a 4.9 because a 4.7 is only what 40 more Hp.

yeah, but 40 HP gain. Is that really alot? Plus i do understand all the other stuff you have to do to make a 4.9 run. I dont i guess its one of those things "if you don't have it, you dont know"

I'm having some issues on the cam on mine. Mine is daily driver, some trails, nothing too hardcore. Its only 3.5" w/ 31s. When it was running it drove great.

Can you do the cryo yourself?

don't do it. The higher you go, the thinner the cylinder walls and the hotter it will run. go 4.6 or 4.7. Beyond that, just get a LS1.

only a 40 hp gain? where did you get that at?

I'm sure I am at least 75 horses up with a budget 4.6 - it will spin the 37's all day long.

I'm putting together a built 4.7 I am expecting to see closer to 285-300 out of.

The power comes from your cam, head, intake, etc. How much you bore it out is almost irrelivant.

No, there is a shop up here in washington state near tacoma that does it. The only thing that sucks is you have to have the engine broken down. Also thinking about doing my axles to just not the shafts

There is a place in Mooresville,NC that does it if you still have your engine apart

thank god :banghead:you told me i was going to buy a 4.9, But i want to cryo freeze it. Why didnt you do your block? If i was going to use a kit what do you think would be the best? hesco bakes thier pistions but im going to cryo them. I want this 4.6 or 4.7 or what ever :yap: to last

Cryoing everything was too expensive and I thought it unnecessary. I did the rods and bearing.
Hesco's pistons are made by Diamond, don't know about the baking. Hesco's kit is good but expensive. 505 performance has a decent forged kit, but pricey as well. I don't know off hand other companies that offer kitrs at this time. Also, Titan goes by several other names on ebay like hammer hear, oldyeller, and something else. Basically if it is in Ocala, Fl its Titan.
