Hey guys I'm knew to this site so perhaps you could go easy on me!!Anyway to the point, i used to own a YJ and ran a d60 rear and d44 front on 38"s,so here is the question...Can I use the axles(both out of a ford 3/4 tonne)In a 90 xj...or are there better and more importantly easier swaps I could perform...I am looking to run 35's possibly 36's on the jeep so an upgrade is a must from the research I've done, also how much lift would you recomend for tires of that size...Thinking of doing a dakota lift with shackles and MAYBE a one inch block.I will cut the fenders if needed!Once again I am knew to the xj's but not knew to building a jeep..Any opinions will be greatly appreciated(BTW I have done a lot of research but haven't found much on axle swaps that answered my questions)..

well....anything is possible depending on how much work you want to do (and the skills that you have). to run those axles you're gonna have to do custom mounts, or put your old ones on your new axle, and while your at it you might as well long arm the front. steering is going to be an issue, but if you've done all the above steering shouldn't be too hard. Defenitely do some more research on the popular 44/9" swap and you can get some baseline info and decide if your up to the task.

Thanks for the info Mike, I plan on the long arm front, Fabing stuff isn't an issue, I was just curious if those axles would work alright as I have them off of my YJ.I pick up the xj today so I can't wait to get it started

rear shouldnt be to much of a problem. as stated before it just takes a little work to put a 44 under the front of any jeep that has coils instead of leafs. its been done plenty of times and there are a ton of threads on it.

60/44 combo is a reasonably common swap into an XJ.
Go ahead.
