What to do?

Hey Northwestern Brethren-

I will be back up in WA (Oak Harbor area) on the 20th through the 24th to see the fam for Turkey Day. I have wheeled at Walker Valley before- most of the easy stuff (it was really fun though), but have never been any where else while I lived up there-

I have also wheeled up at Mt. Baker- those logging roads are fun to negotiate in full snow cover plus the river that winds around Baker.

So I guess what I am trying to ask is: is there any trails within 2 hours of Whidbey Island that are decent to wheel-

Some specs of my XJ might help(granted it's nothing extreme):
1995 Sport
2 inch BB(Front coil spacers and rear full length AAL)
245/75R16 MT/R's- Open/Open in D30/8.25
JCR Stage II RockerGuards

Just curious- I will be missing the Socal chapter's Rockin XJ Jambo this year, but I want to get some wheeling in while I am on vacation.

Thanks for advice/info,

L8r,
Coullt

P.S.- Adam (adamusmc2002), are you going to be around?

I have wednesday the 23rd off, but unsure what the whole family is doing as of now. Ill keep ya updated, and maybe get a group together do go out to Reiter or something.

Sounds good- what kind of terrain is Rieter and what city is it located near?

Are you actually in town on the 20th Or is that a transit day? I am totally buried W/ family on the 23rd and have to work the 21st,22nd, and 24th. I am off on monday the 20th, and could do a Walker run. Right know Walker is a good old fashioned NW Mess (Slippery roots, mud, tight trees). We could keep it faily light especially if you have to drive back to San Dee-ago, which is german for a Whales V@&!n@.

The 20th would be an in town day- I am leaving the night of the 17th and driving straight through (22 hours) to WA and plan on being on Whidbey by Sat(18th) night. That might work for me- did they ever catch that killer in Walker Valley? When I left, there were signs posted everywhere about a killer loose in the woods- the signs looked real, so I never went back.

I'm glad you caught on to the locale.....most people ask me where a whale's v-whatever is-

Yeah They caught him, but there was a lack of evidence and I was released about a year ago:gag:

I have never heard of that, or seen signs warning of that, On the weekends there is generally a pretty strong DNR and sherrif contingency present. Plus they have added hidden survellance camera's at the parking area. I Wheel there often and have never worried about people lurking in the woods. keep me posted on your status, and pm if you want to go on the 20th. Like I said we could just run some of the lighter stuff, that should only take about a half a day
