What to buy

Make sure you use killer mounting points

I don't normally say much around here Mona but would you at least leave your crying and moaning in YOUR thread instead of spilling into other peoples?

I'm gonna buck the trend here. Buy the winch you want first. You need cash in hand when that SCREAMIN!!! deals fall out of the sky. Take your time figuring out what you want in a bumper. You know enough people who can help you build it.

I'd hate to rush into buying a welder. For what good welders cost, think in terms of a lifetime investment. It may well be the last welder you buy.

Either save the money for a Lincoln or Miller welder, or buy your winch and bumper now. I've got the parts to make one last bumper I can make you a good deal on if you're willing to do all the pre and post weld grinding on.

 Oh Dougie! YooHoo....... $320........ you know you want it..... :D

Oh, and in regards to the OP...

Get the welder hands down.

You might not realize now...but having the ability to weld can make life SO much easier and go SO much further in SO many ways...even on the most simple of stuff you might not think of.

Take it from me... I've done a weeee bit of welding :D

A 110V welder with flux core will handle 3/16 but therew ill be a lot of slag to clean up and its really not ideal.

I weld all sorts of stuff with my Lincoln 120, and yeah, sometimes the welds aren't the prettiest, but with flux core wire it will do just fine... I'm sure if I spent some time with a good 220 unit, I'd think I was nuts, but since I don't know what I'm missing, I'm happy!

Oh you can definitely do a lot with a 110 welder and flux core, its just not ideal. Still, for the money, if you're not planning on doing a whole bunch of major fab work, theyre great to have. A good quality 110V Welder is always better than no welder.
