On a 91, it's 'code' inside the ECU. You could always pull the bulb, but ...

What year? '90 and older it's a smoked/clear plastic box with a bunch of gears in it. If you're '91+ it's a code stored in the computer. Have to get a shop to reset it for you.

On my 91 it was the little grey box thing. It's just there to tell you to do the required emissions maint.

you could do that...or just pull the bulb...

knowing when to do your maintenance is more important than a little LIGHT telling you to do it.
