Betty got her oil changed today for the first time since she was built. Mobil 1 was on sale for only $5 more than the conventional (5 qt jug) so she got the good stuff this time. I do have a small exhaust leak that I'd like to fix, but it won't keep me from going. So if I am able to get everything else fixed this week for the family then I may try to rake up an extra $20 for the gaskets & try to fix that too.

I got my syeering box brace installed. It's a T&J unit and it aweful close to the crankshaft pulley.

I can't find the CB mount and screws so I will be going by the truckstop this week to get an antenna, cable and various other CB parts.

My told my wife about the missing Midland CB box with the mounting brackets and screws and within 2 minutes she brings me the box. Yay!

Picked up a K40 magnetic CB antenna today at Pilot. It says made in USA so maybe it will be a good one. It has the biggest base and longest antenna of the magnetic versions they had in stock.

This is what I run now, after breaking many of those smaller ones with the built in springs.

I had great luck with my K40.

until I boneheaded it and screwed up the base.

Got Jennie's fancy e-fan conversion done.

super PITA. Keep the mechanical fan if you value your sanity.
CB stuff will be here tomorrow.

need to change the oil in the XJ and the gearbox in the uhaul and we're ready to pack up and go.

Who can tell me where I can find a 5 gallon pail of 50W motor oil?
Yes serious.

Nate, go ask one of the truck stops up there. The travel America and flying j down here have service shops for big rigs.

sadly my local truck stop was replaced by a Goasis car station :(

I'm going to try the international dealer I guess and get raped.

A good farm supply store should carry a 50W oil.

1. Acquire 231....Done
2. Acquire SYE for 231....Done
3. Install said 231....Done
4. Acquire a new D30 and rebuild/re-gear. Possibly order new locker if current one is screwed....Done and Installed!

All that's left is change the oil, change the coolant, break in the D30 a little bit more and change the gear oil. Need to inventory my spare parts bin and see what I need to pick up between now and then.
