What did yall get for Christmas?

Got the wife a nice wool coat, hat/scarf/gloves, some maternity clothes for work, and a watch. Got gift certificates for little brother and his wife. HF for Lil Bro and Dillard's for Liz. Got a hand made cutting board for mom.

Hung out at Mom's Cafe on Christmas Eve; ate way too much! She made pernil (Puerto Rican pork roast), rice & beans, and flan. She baked a ton of other stuff too, mini cheesecakes, carrot cake, cookies.

Scored some Skull Candy gaming headphones, Assassins Creed II, and GTA Underground.

Already have CoD MW2; gamertag XDeltaNineJ.

x infinity [Apologies Frank, what I say below is somewhat related to your sentiment]

Took 8 years to hit critical mass since the time we (wife and I) absolutely refused anything other than their (family and friends) presence. (For the spelling challenged, that wasn't "presents").

If they came with gifts, they took them home. Rough couple of years for them to get over it and realize we just wanted to get together. Good food, wine, beer, warm wood stove, and good just being there.

After the first few years, they'd show up thankful towards us (and in general) for not feeling any kind of pressure about "what to get", because they finally understood we didn't give a sh!t about stuff. We just wanted THEM there.

So anyway, Wife and I are deprogramming heroes now. :pirate1:

We'll need a bigger house and garage, and shed, and heated patio soon, cuz more and more peeps show up each year to meet in sanctuary from the BS.

Wish it could happen more than once a year!

They don't have a big enough thumbs up smiley for me to express how I feel so this'll have to do.
