I'm almost done with my history degree at Humboldt State University- I love railroads, trains, and everything associated with them, so I volunteer for a local group trying to restore rail service to our area, and I do research/writing on the history of our railroads.

So I have learned to drive this thing-

And these-

And I work on these.

Well, I was sick of starbucks, so I applied to Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Eureka, and got hired! So now I get to work as a lube tech, but they want to make me the aftermarket part specialist, particularly for jk's.

The shop-

Anyways, hope all is well with all you Sierra Chapter knuckleheads!

Cool train pics. I love riding the old excursion trains. The Santa Cruz beach train is one of my favorites.

Working on the new JKs is pretty easy. I have done quite a few stage 2 and stage 3 MOPAR lift kits. Sounds like a good gig, even though it is a Lithia owned dealership.

Dude thats awesome Srmitchel ! Way to go! So you have a sweet WJ and a sweet XJ now? Damn thats sweet. what are the specs on the WJ?
HO v8? what sorta MPG does it get? whats the mileage? does is have the factory posix front and rear? looks like it has a BB and some 31s?

Congrats man. That's an awesome position that I had no existed. I decided to apply in Elk Grove! haha. always loved your xj, and that wj is awesome!. I would love to ditch the xj for one of those.

Thanks guys!! I am really excited. Much better than making latte's all day.

And I will get to learn some of the basics about diesel tech, which is good for when we need to work on the two V8's in our 44 ton diesel locomotive I posted.

Haha thanks guys... More updates-
I scored a set of 5 of these things- JK moabs, graphite from the freedom edition, 5 for $500. They are going to go on the Overland when it gets a 3 inch lift. The SRA's are just basic highway tires, but that jeep doesn't need mud tires right now.

We got some new arrivals today at the dealership-

Hate to say it, but it is growing on me.

And then about 5 of these sexy things-

The front of the Cherokee still looks weird to me, but we'll see when people start modifying them. In a year it won't be that odd, I'm sure.

Now the new GC looks great. I like those a lot. Diesel is a definite plus!

And nice DD! Can you remind us what lift and tire combo are on the silver WJ?

Thanks man!

The wj first had a 2 inch budget boost with 31's.-

Then it got an Iron Rock 3 inch lift, with 265/75/16's. And bilstien shocks.

Then we scored some JK rubicon take offs, its a 255/75/17 "km1".

You can see the Kevin's Offroad sliders there too, I took them off because they hang 2 inches below the pinch seam. I want some IRO premium sliders, they actually bolt right next to the seam. (Way higher) But they do cost $400.

Congrat's on the new job Sean. So, your dad finally got his Overland. Does this mean the silver will finally run a trail instead of spending the weekend in the camp? :D

Great to hear from you and congratulations on the job. Nice score on the WJ.

Guess I won't be seeing your XJ around town as much, but I have to admit the WJ would a lot more comfy to cruise around here....

Good luck on your studies at HSU.
