W.E. Rock Goldendale: 7/18

World Extreme Rockcrawling (W.E. Rock) was in our neck of the woods this weekend over in Goldendale, Washington. I had never been to a rock crawling event of this type before, so I figured I'd cruise over for the day to check it out.

Easy drive up the gorge, weather was perfect.

The event location was easy to find, and after gearing up for a day of spectating I hiked into the course area. The action started right up at 10am.

This was a really clean, tubo charged, propane powered rig.

A lot of nice rigs out there.

Jessie Haines brought out his new car to the event. A few little issues, but it worked great all day. Here he is about to drop off the bonus line.

You don't need a full tube chassis to compete. There's classes for everyone (to an extent). Team Toyota was fun to watch all day.

This corner got a lot of teams.

Opie (XJ_Ranger) brought out his Cherocar.

They had a great strategy of taking a reverse point and backing into the corner to square up better, but it still ended up costing them a cone in the end.

This wasn't a big course, but it was pretty tight. Lots of dig action going on.

Sometimes it came down to a fraction of an inch between hitting a cone or not.

Front burn! No cones were touched.

All in all, this was a great event to watch. I'd highly recommend it if anyone gets the chance. They will be running again tomorrow if anyone wants to go check it out.

I'm glad you had a good time - I sure did. I was 2nd at the end of day 1, but rolled hard 1st course day 2, and DNF'd that course. The roll fragged my radiator, so I was leaking water the rest of the day.

A hard roll on Sunday morning took us down to 5th place. But we had a blast doing it.

That green Toyota with the low range stickers is my buddy's rig. His goal is to prove an almost stock Toyota can run with the boys of WErock and dirt riot. He's always fun to watch mainly cause I think he uses the force when he drives lol
