Upholstery recommendation?

Thinking about re-upholstering the XJ with tan leather instead of the black, don't like the look. Does anyone know of a place to get the front and rear seats done professionally? Or even someonw with power front XJ (late model) seats in tan leather and a rear one? Don't care where they are located, I go between Grand Junction, Denver and Colorado Springs most every week or two. Thanks! Dino

Skinning the seats with new material is super easy. You can by pre-made kits from Katzkin. Auto Trim of Denver sells Katzkin but only for installation by them. I had my truck done there and it turned out incredible. It was a dealer upgrade so I didn't pay for it and not sure of the price, but from what I understand, it's really reasonable given the high quality.

I called them about doing a '99 XJ and a leather kit for front buckets and the rear seat they quoted a little over $1,200 with seat heaters installed.

Dodge turned out great. I just called them and they quoted me $1667 plus tax for the leather and heaters.. ouch.. maybe I should just look for tan ones taken out of an XJ. thanks for the info!

You'll have likely made back that $1,667 at work before you find a nice set of 2nd gen leather seats. The driver's lower cushion is notorious for cracking and if you find a mint set you are not going to be far off that $1,600 price for them.

I was worried about that, I have been looking all over the place with NO luck on the seats.. I thought it would cost a lot less to recover them, but nope.. crazy money

Found my power, heated, leather seats with switchs and wiring at a salvage yard in Oklahoma for $350.00 shipped including back seat and the seat heater"s work. :yelclap:

It will cost 750$or so for a set of seatcoverof the internet, that fit and 1600 is proably a installed price

If you can buy the pre-made skins...... They're not hard to install at all, save on that labor rate.
