I know at least one of you is getting his NAXJA forum fix, so hows about sharing some of the fun and activities with us poor saps that could not make it?

Did Beezil finish his Jeep?

How is the weather?

How many XJs there so far?

Any notables?

I can answer some of this. I was down for the first weekend (Fri - Sun). I saw Beezil's rig pull into Slick Rock campgrounds sometime Saturday evening. Looked finished, but I wasn't very close to take a look. I even saw the give away XJ. It's looking pretty good! :cool:

Rained Friday night, small showers on Saturday but mostly overcast. Sunday was beautiful and I would expect it to stay like that through the week.

Just over that weekend, I saw at least 20 different XJ's with more rolling in as I left Sunday night. :cool:

Since I only live 2 hours away, I'll be back down this weekend too. :D

Twas the night before Moab, when all through the garage
Every creature was stirring, even the Dodge;
The shackles were hung behind the XJ with care,
In hopes that the lift kit soon would be there;

Little jeepers where nestled all snug in thier beds,
While visions of Hells Revenge danced in thier heads;
And mamma in her Cherokee Chief, and I with my map,
Had just settled down for a last minute re-pack.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the den to see what was the matter.
Away to the driveway I flew like a flash,
Opened the garage door and moved away the trash.

The moon on the breast of a big brown van,
Revealed a heavy laden man with a funny suntan,
When what to my wondering eyes he there held,
but a box full of parts and werewith' to weld.

Then sprang the van driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment that this would be sick!
More rapid than eagles rig more workers they came,
And the driver whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

Now BOB! now ED! now FRANK! and LARRY!
On GEORGE! on JOHN! on DAN! and GARY!
To the garage now! to the rockcrawler!
Now dash away! dash away! don't make me holler!

As jeepspeed cherokees through the desert fly
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the garage the workers they flew,
With theier arms full of parts, and many tools too.

And then, with a tinkling, I heard under my Jeep,
The ratcheting and and pulling of parts of my heep,
As I lifted my hand, and was turning around,
Down the driveway another mechanic bound.

His was dressed in mechanics garb, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with gear oil and soot;
A bundle of tools he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a Vendor opening his sack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as black as coal;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And grabbed hold of the jack, and dropped my rig with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up from the XJ he rose;

He sprang to his van, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"HAPPY MOAB TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"

XJGuy you'll have to let us Utahns know when you can make it out so we can meet up and see this rig your building. I'll be there starting tomorrow morning and will have a full writeup posted after I get back home!

PUNK!!!!! :D :D :D

I'm ready to go, I just need to wait until the spelling test is complete on Thursday for the 1st grader. I'll be there 4 hours after that......all known issues are taken care of on the XJ....

OK, I don't know who is "connected" here besides me. I don't have a lot of info for you... I'm not "in the know".

So here goes:

The weather is warm, but not hot. The solar radiant is pretty strong, so sunscreen is a must and shade is lovely.

Evenings are cool...

Seems Beezil's XJ has been driving around here...

Some mishaps, I'll let others go into detail.

I did Steel Bender and it was fun. I'm going to see if I can convert some pics to a format that doesn't drive me crazy to upload at 26Kbps (via my cellphone).
