What's involved in geting the crossmember ready for the drop? Is there studs to remove and if so what's the best method? Thanks, Al
I would suggest no matter what kit you get check to make sure the bolts supplied go far enough into the frame rail. The ones i got with my skycrapper kit were too short and I didnt realize it until the crossmember dropped during a trail run. Also you may want to upgrade to grade 8 hardware.
Yup - They are M10x1.50 - the length is more vague since the extra length goes up into the "frame" void anyway. I had overly-long 50mm bolts holding mine in place with the t-case drop, and just screwed them back in place when I put an SYE on and lost the spacers. Was trying to find out the size of the bolt. Is it 10mm 1.5 pitch? Do you think with a 1" square tubing a 2" bolt would work?
Was thinking of using this method.. http://go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoTCdrop.htm
Like others, just researching before getting started...
Thanks..
