Hi All
I bought a new TPS for the 95, obd1. The old one is running fine but i wanted a spare
Installed it. Started and ran fine.
Next day for work, coughed and spluttered and stalled etc.
Took it out, put the old one in. Ran fine.
Put new one back in. Started and ran fine.
Next day...same with the rough running.

So i bought another new TPS.
Put it in. Disconnected battery and crossed leads. Started and ran fine. Took it up the street .. all ok
Next day coughing, stalling, high idle.
It drives ok otherwise.

Put the old one back in and runs fine.

Any ideas?
Thanks.
Darren.

What brand(s) did you buy and from where? Many aftermarket sensors brands are cheaply made and unreliable. Feels more like a lottery these days.

Tracking down new OEM parts is somewhere between difficult and impossible but I (and many other's) have had success with NTK/NGK sensors. Myself, I've also had success with Standard Motor Products (SMP) sensors. It may be that I'm in the US, but sensors from SMP I've purchased have been made either in Canada or Mexico.
