Tools you avoided but are great

What are some tools you avoided buying for a long time that, once you got them, you are glad you have?

Impact driver. I still haven’t bothered to get a 1/2” impact wrench yet but I got the little 1/4” hex driver and it is great for lug nuts, most normal hardware, and screws. Would buy again.

Ratcheting box wrenches. I had ratchets and sockets, I had combination wrenches, why spend the money on ratcheting box wrenches? I had of course used them but never justified them for my own purchase. Now I’m considering a few select individual sizes to live in the Jeep tool bag.

Have you skipped over any purchases to realize later that it is a great buy?

A good Mig welder has saved me 1000's of dollars making better products you can even buy!

Having a good one probably saved the XJ from certain death.

I bought some of the 6" Quickgrip clamps on a lark when they first came out. Over the years I got to the point of not being able to work without them, and the larger sizes.

Yes, these.

Also the sockets that have all those square teeth in them. Indispensable for that manifold bolt back by the firewall.

Big as air powered hammer, die grinders with carbide burrs, nut busters on big ass air hammer, 1" impact gun, needle scaler. Little makita 3/8 1/4" rachet for places my hands dont fit. Probably my most used is big makita 1/2 18v impact it removes most things.

If my 1/2 Makita doesn't remove it it snaps it....LOL
