Tire Selection

What do yall think I should run on my XJ. I have 38-12.50-15 swampers on T/R beadlocks and they are too wide for my trailer, old, cut up, and look nasty so I need to go to with a narrower tire. I pretty sure that Ill run 37-12.5-15 Goodyear MT/R's because I run the same exact tire on my YJ and am very happy with it but Im just looking for options. FYI the 37" MT/R is actually taller than the 38s that I have on now. 38s dont rub too bad.

Existing swampers and a new 37" TOYO MT for comparison. There is more offset with the beadlocks than the steel wheels that the TOYOs are on.

Some pics just for fun.

Yup, still have not found anything better than the MT/R. But I look.

Take a look at Maxxis Creepy Crawlers.

Mike's in Moab for a few weeks, otherwise you could just drive around the corner to see his 35's

jonboy, I love your avator. I wish that they were real.

-Maxxis website states that the creepycrawler is $357.31

-4wheelparts.com wants $277.99 for the MT/R w/ no tax.
Maxxis tires are biasply where MT/R's are, of coarse, radials. Do they really flex that much better.

is it worth the extra 79.32 a tire for the creepycrawler.

Try Discount Tire. Also note that their website prices on Maxxis tires are way better if you select San Diego area instead of OC

37 x 12.5 x 15 Creepy's are $229 in Vista, website probably shows around $300 in OC.

People who are running them say they work great and the rocks at JV have not been able to destroy any sidewalls.

I PM'd you ...

I have nothing against interco, but I would rather stay away. TrXuS M/T looks like it has a decent tread but I think that Im either gonna get the MT/Rs or the CreepyCrawlers.
Anyone run the trepadors.

They dont make trepador in 15" wheelsize, except the 35"s.

Why not run a 38x11" bogger? I know you said you'd rather stay away from swampers, but if you need the extra traction, its a good tire.

But since i see you're in CA, from what ive seen, its hard to beat an MT/R out there

nobody really runs boggers here except pavement pounders, there is a lack of mud most of the year.

I ordered 5 new Maxxis Creepy Crawlers. I dont think that you can beat 229.00 a tire for 37 x 12.5 x 15.

The guy at my local discount tire cannot tell me why all the OC tire stores charge over 300.00 for the same tire and I can get it in Oceanside for 229.00. Thats alot of money when your buying 5 tires.
