Tire Grooving

Found the name "Ideal Heated Knives" as being a good tire groover. But only found one on line outlet and they didn't explain what a number 4 cutter was or how big it was. What I want to do is cut some more grooves in my MT's for the snow. I was thinking 1/4" X 1/4".
I need some additional info and I'm not having much luck finding it. Help!
Being stuck over here, in the arm pit of the world, is a real bumber.

Can't answer your question (try giving them a call) but one thing to rember that groves are used to break the tread block to allow it to conform better to rock not a bad thing for snow buy siping is a better alternative if street snow is what your about.
