This flat out sucks, it may be fast approaching removal time for the elected officials in all three houses if they allow this. They don't want to give it away as it will drive prices down.

Those that approve this, executives and government officials both need to be tied to the flag pole in the middle of the burn and for the duration.

Re: Those fother muckers

why are they burning the recovered oil? Why don't they just refine it? I could see burning the slicks if they are unrecoverable.

Side note, I saw some small areas of it from the air the other day, and picked up a small piece of crude on the beach. Not much has made it to me yet. Looks like mainly stuff that was whipped up with surface foam from the storms we had last week.

Language, Rich, language...... this is also getting moved into the Political Zone.

Oh, FFS. Why not just use old tyres for kindling while we're about it? See if we can't get a freeway or three started - asphalt is a petroleum product, and it will burn if you get it hot enough!

The article doesn't seem to mention anything about price impact (although I may have missed it - I didn't read it thoroughly,) but the idea of it is dumb enough without considering that as well...
