T-case swap

So I have a 231 J with a 21 spline count that I need to replace with my 231j with the SYE and 23 spline. So my question is how hard is it to replace the splines. I need the SYE t-case to be 21 spline and don't want to damage it by pulling it apart

If you know what you are doing, it will not be damaged pulling it apart. And that's a BIG IF.

Will the spline just come out after unbolting it or is there a trick

u have release the whole planitary gear set up and then a lock ring holds the input shaft to the planitary gears

Get yourself some good snap ring pliers, if not you're going to be in for a real treat.

It would be alot less work to just swap out the SYE!

Umm...are you aware what a 'spline' entails? Splines cannot be removed or changed out...etc, etc
