Swearing in German!

I just bought my daughter a '99 Volkswagen Beetle with 60K miles on it.
It's a cute thing, but DAMN! - it sure is a booger to work on.

I had to replace the starter on it - took nearly three hours of cursing at German engineering, plus several cuts & bruises.
They sure know how to cram stuff together.

Does anyone know of a good online resource for repairing Beetles?
How about an illustrated parts manual?

Thanks!

Sheiskopf!

Feel free to post more - maybe it will help whip the sucker into shape.
I've got to replace the brake pads tonight - so I need some more swear words.

btw www.vwvortex.com is okay, but I'm still at a loss for finding any worthwhile .pdf files.

  • I'm looking for a .pdf parts manual
  • I'm looking for a .pdf owner's manual (There wasn't one in the glove box)
  • I'm looking for a .pdf wiring diagram
  • I'm looking for a .pdf service manual

Other formats (other than .pdf) would be okay - but I can't find jack!

I searched for hours today on the web
It's as if someone (possibly Volkswagen) has made an effort to prevent any of those from being available on the net.

Can't you get pdf manuals from volkswagen's website?
Tried searching for torrents yet?
Seems like the beetle manual should be easy to find.
