i got a 99 xj with 4 in rough country lift with 32s and my front drive shaft has play into it like you can roll it. is this normal or should i be worried about it?
If you're talking about when your transfer case is in 2wd and you can move the driveshaft back and forth with a clunking in the front diff, then yes, that's normal.
There is nothing connecting your front driveshaft inside the transfer case when it's in 2wd, so when you roll the driveshaft, you're moving the pinion gear from on side of the ring gear tooth to the other. The same thing happens when you go from forward to reverse.
