I was coming down gold camp into colorado springs with a TJ behind me, when I came to such a terribly icy section that I did a 180 into a rut just feet from a chevy pickup that made the same slide, only at over 30mph. The chevy is really messed up. I rubbed up against the chevy passing it, but the TJ driver didn't feel as confident passing the chevy and left his up there. I drove everyone down in my XJ on BFG at's. No visible damage to my XJ, but I did get to use my winch 4 times today pulling other vehicles.
Would chains help out much in this situation? Lots of fresh snow on top of a icy pack surface, on top of a well graded dirt road that is also off camber. The downhill side is blocked by a chevy pickup (although I might just pull him out tomorrow too)
oh, the TJ has 31x10.50 bfg at's, and the chevy also has some bfg at's of some size...
