Storm damage?

Is everyone ok? We had some baseballsized hail and it smashed out my girlfriends windshield right before we fit a tree limb. Did anyone get hit by the tonados?

When did this happen. All we getting down here in Flatonia is is wind, constant gusts. Not to heavy but just enough to make the tree limbs hit my room and annoy me

Aint been home to see it yet but, I've been told my XJ got the crap beat out of it by the hail.
Had 4 windows in the apartment knocked out also.
Should be home in a day or two.

Had the rig blown clean into the next lane today and I was grossing over 77,000 lbs too!
70 to 80 mile per hour winds, hail and rain so bad I could not see 40 foot down the highway.

Good thing climate change and global warming is just a hoax!

I turn 56 in July, lived in Houston all my life, and I don't ever recall 100 F days here in May (or even June!!!), and neither do the official records!!!! From what I have heard, the number of and size of the tornados in tornado alley, have been off the record scales this past 4-5 weeks.

Well......
Took the Jeep to have an estimate wrote up on it by the insurance guy.
He took one look at it and didnt even attempt to write one.
Its totaled.
Got a check for $2600.00 and bought it back for $215.00.
Guess now I can buy some goodies for it and I no longer will have to worry about body damage.

In case you are not aware of it, you will need to re-title it twice, as a salvage vehicle if you ever plan to put it on the street again. And don't bother buying Comprehensive or Collision insurance on it as it is no longer insurable, except for liability, once totaled, thanks to the insurance lobbys.....:soapbox:

Even if another drive runs over it, the insurance companies will no longer pay damages on that jeep ever again.

I wasn't aware of it either. I nearly sued Allstate over it last year, as they did not tell me before they sent me the check what the implications of accepting a payment for totaling it would be. If I taken about $100 less in the settlement, I would not have needed to spend a month and $200 on state registration fees, and inspection and two different titles along the way to retitle it as a salvaged vehicle. I did however tie Allstate up with an outside attorney for about 20 hrs at a good $250/hr plus as payback!!!!

Whoever the insurance company is that is paying you, they will send the state of Texas a form unregistering the current title for you (with no prior notice they are doing this ). And then they mail you a letter saying what they did, and that you can no longer drive the car, and they tell you that you need to spend X-$$s to file for a salvage (junk car, for parts only) title with the state.

If you fix the Jeep, you need to get it passed a safety inspection (the local safety sticker and emission guys, and they will need to see the pink salvage title IIRC, to enter numbers in the data base PC), then take the salvage pink title and proof of safety inspection to the county tax office, and give them more money to apply for a new salvaged, but drivable vehicle title. Cost me about $175 IIRC, something Allstate did not reimburse me for.
