What do I need to do? I know that 235/75/15 will fit on but i'm not sure adding that other inch, flareless trimming? what would need to be done to fit them under my stock XJ?

Mount the 30x9.50s on the stock wheels and go trail riding. They work fine. If you disconnect the anti-sway bars, they will rub, but as long as you're stock, no problems.

(30-9.50 Goodrich ATs on stock '00 sport - no problems)

Mine rub the front at full lock, but only the inner fender skirts. The rear rubs sometimes on the feeway if I'm loaded down and hit a big bump, but my rear springs are really sagged. You should be fine.

x2. Totally stock aside from 30x9.50 + Tomken TC skid. No problems, no rubbing, wheel at full lock its all good.

my girlfriend's stock 88 has 30x9.5 BFG ATs on stock wheels. she slightly rubs at full lock

I just got 30x9.5 BFG ATs for my 96 XJ the other week. They don't rub at all on the road, and my rear is practically sitting on bumpstops because my springs are shot. On the trail I only rub at full lock while articulated. But even then it isn't much and I just back of on the steering a little bit. No complaints with it.

I don't mean to bring this thread back from the dead, but I'm looking to get some 30X9.5 BFG Mud or All Terrains, and I'm also looking at getting some after market wheels...

How do you think 15X8 w/ 3.75" of backspacing and 30x9.5s would do on a completely stock 2001 XJ?

I don't know what the back spacing is on TJ Canyons but they're 15X8's and I ran 30X9.5X15's at stock height on my 97 for a while and as said above no problems

They never rubbed on anything on or off road

I run 30x9.5's on cragar soft 8's. 4" bs i believe. they rubbed in the front on the fenders in turns and when i would hit hard bumps they would hit the flares in the back. 3" lift,no more problems.:) stock rims or rims same bs as stock u should be fine.

That would most likely push the tires out to the flares and rub. I would get 4.5"-5" of backspacing to tuck them inside the wheel wells better. Stock backspacing is 5.25" FYI.

After I got my tires put on i went on our property 60 acres in the pigeon at full flex the rear rubs ever so slightly and front not at all although the rear sway is disco'd and the front is not

What backspacing?

I ran 30" BFG M/T's on my 01 stock, no issues. It should be ok.

You should be ok stock.

But I think the ideal combo with 30s is a budget boost, longer shocks, bumpstops and disconnects. That's what I have and its amazing what my Jeep can do. Articulation is outstanding with no rubbing whatsoever.

I wish I could do a budget boost, but my springs are so shot, I just need to save up and replace them. A month later and still no complaints about my 30x9.5's, though.

They don't make any tires I like in 225/75/R15 (stock)... I want All Terrains or Mud Terrains...

And wheels with 5"+ of backspacing are hard to come by...

In response to this my friend has 3.75 bajas on 235/75/15 and they rub which would obviously mean that 30x9.5. You stated you wanted an AT in 225/75/15 which I listed were only AT and MT search... i'm not sure where you said you didn't want those. American racing makes several rims (only company I looked under) @ 5.25 BS.
