...this is a pretty shaky agrument against their right to assemble:

Basically, they're saying that those idiots shouldn't be allowed to assemble (never mind that pesky First Amendment) specifically because these other idiots will get pissed off and pelt them with ROCKS.
"You can't say things we don't like because we will beat you up."
Like I said, I'm hardly posting this to defend the nazis.
I'm just pointing out that when your argument (or your conduct) makes NAZIS look good in comparison, you're doing it wrong.
And doing it in the name of "Civil Rights," just might be the definition of irony.

A neo-Nazi white supremacist group rallied against illegal immigration in downtown Los Angeles Saturday as hundreds of counter-protesters gathered to shout them down...
There was a brief flare-up of violence when a man removed his shirt revealing tattoos that featured Nazi lightning bolts, which some in the crowd deemed offensive.
Counter-protester James Lafferty, executive director of the National Lawyers Guild, said he saw the tattooed man punched and kicked... counter-protesters hurled rocks, branches and other items over the police line toward the neo-Nazis...
Danielle Heck, a spokeswoman for the (community activists and civil rights) groups, told The Associated Press that the groups shouldn't be allowed to gather because they practice hate speech and seek to incite violence.
