I just returned from a trip to the Oregon Coast and it is smoky from Garberville all the way back to San Francisco. It was really bad around Laytonville. What is scary is this is what we usually get in late August and September.
The smoke has cleared up quite a bit over the weekend, although my car was covered in ash this morning. I can see Mt Diablo once again, and I can see blue skies here in Walnut Creek. :yelclap:
Spent the past week (Sunday through Thursday) camping at Zephyr Cove on Lake Tahoe. Spent a couple hundred bucks on a boat cruise and could not see the mountains from the lake. Spent even more money on the Heavenly gondola to the top of the mountain and could barely see the lake from the top (over 9,000 feet).
When you promise your kids you'll take them on these cool trips, you have to follow through. Meanwhile you think of all the XJ parts you could have bought for the money spent looking at smoke from spectacular vantage points.
