Hey, to any of you forum admins. whats up with all the spam recently? The past 3 days have been flooded with it and tonight the porn spam actually slipped through. Just curious as to why all of a sudden? Hackers getting smarter? I did want to point out that I try to report a post anytime I see it, but it is you guys that really make the final delete and you've been very expedient about it, wanted to say thanks for that.

It seems to come in waves - I run into it on the Yahoo! groups I run as well. There, at least, we can usually catch them before they start SPAMming the group. Some of them become very much judgement calls, but I fully support my volunteer listmoms, and if they can't decide, they're under instruction to pass it to me (since I have to be able to justify their actions, I reserve final say.)

Until we can nuke the SPAMmers back into the Stone Age, we'll just do with what we can. I sometimes manage to catch them on Tech before they're reported, so we do try to stay on top of things!

(My personal favourite would be to slice a habanero in half lengthwise, and use it as an impromptu suppository...)

We're going to be stuck with spam as long as there's a way to post without any charge.

Jon, add slivers of double base flare powder under the fingernails. Makes it a bit harder to use a keyboard.

That's what I figured, I didn't think the board's security had gone down, but just wasn't sure. As I said before, just glad you guys are on top of things.

Use a rusty pair, please.

Sorry. "Good" meaning a pair that I could get a good grip with, and won't cause me any discomfort when bearing down on the grip.

"Good" doesn't mean a pair that isn't rusty or beat-up - I've got a couple of pair that I haven't had the heart to throw away, even though they're nasy and wouldn't fetch a nickel at a yard sale. They work, they're just ugly.

Besides, I was saving the "rusty" part for the knife I'd use to score the nailbed to maximise discomfort for the victim...

Don't forget the iodine or salt walter..... not like we'd want those nailbeds to get infected.........

Meh - I was thinking merthiolate or tincture of green soap. I still have some around that I used to use on the boys when they'd do something stupid and expect me to see to it (I have two varieties of disinfectant. One for when it's not your fault, and one for when it is. I find the latter type tends to enhance common sense while preventing infection...)
