Hello all... I'm a new owner of a 01' XJ! Coming from a 95' s-10 this is a huge step in the right direction. I would like to get it out of "stock" proportions ASAP! I was woundering where most of you do your purchasing in the Denver area. 4WP has some good deals once in awhile, but they dont sell lift kits like RE's. I noticed Offroadtoystore.com is in Littleton, has anyone dealt with them, and if so what was the customer service and price fairness like? Any other recommendations? How about Four To Go?

Any help would be great! Thanks in advance...

welcome...

congrats on the "upgrade". ;)

i don't think you'll find "the one" recommendation, as folks seem to shop just about everywhere. many use mail order for cheaper prices, some prefer to support local and/or have the face-to-face customer service, then there's always buying used-- which in an organization like this means you can find just about anything you'd need.

i've done all of the above. fwiw, my best experience w/ mail order has probably been DPGoffroad.com-- great prices and friendly customer service.

i'm sure others will chime in...

offroadtoystore is ok. the problem is that you're (maybe) paying sales tax on the stuff they ship to you (unlike out of state sellers). You might be able to pick up some items from his warehouse, but realize they're a dealer for lots of other manufacturers, so those parts will come direct to you from almost anywhere. Prices are competitve, but I get sucked into add-ons :)
Customer service is good, but they goofed in a few areas - it's partly my fault for being so high maintenance, so I don't fault them.
stuff like me changing my shock choice becase what i bought were back-ordered.... then i don't have disconnects... then i get 2 sets of disconnects...

Give "Thunder Mountain Truck Accessories" a try. They're a new place and have tons of connections for everything we need, to street rods and the ricer's bling. I bought a few things for my new truck there last month and got excellent prices and service. One of the partners, Keith Segura is a buddy of mine. They're located in unincorporated Jefferson County so sales tax is a nice low 4.3 (I believe). Their store is at Bowles and Kipling.

if all you want is good prices go on line but if you like awsome customer care and guys who know what they are talking about i have had awsome experience with high country 4x4 in i think engle wood off 285 and almost sante fe. also i think 4wd parts place does sell RE if i rember corectly.

You can contact JohnJohn or.....Formatt Fabrications (www.formattfab.com)now carries all of the stuff that you can get from 4WP or Rubicon Express.
The site will be updated to reflect that shortly.

Also, I'm in morrison.....not too far from Arvada.....so if you ever need to chat and figure out which direction to go with your rig....then we can certainly arrange something.

Or you can ask away in this section of the board.....there are a bunch of smart individuals here.

Hey all! Thanks a lot for all the advice! I can already see that www.naxja.org is full of great people. Good point on the sales tax from offroadtoystore. Oh and Brian, i'll probably take you up on that offer sometime! Actually, im already having a hard time deciding on whether to get a lift/wheels/rims or skids/rocksliders with my tax return $$$... =)

weeeeeee, how does that saying go? Just Empty Every Pocket...

most people will tell you lift it first but the smart ones will tell you to do skids first and lurn how to drive stock then lift and you will be a much better driver for it. were about in arvada? i spend almost every evening from 6 till whenever around the old chicago off wads and 87th area give the big ass red jeep with no front bumper and 35s a wave.

'tis not quite as exciting, but definitely get the skids and rockers first...

the smart ones will tell you to do skids first

gee, thanks-- usually when i'm called smart there is another 3-letter word which follows...

:D

ORI - OffRoad Innovations in Centennial. Good folk there, although I did buy my first lift through Offroadtoystore and had no problems there either.

lol, rock on! i live pretty close to the APEX(arvada rec center) on 72nd, but i go to and by old chicago very often.

I was thinkin sliders and skids would be most important, now that that is confirmed... time to order this shiznick! Anyone ever have any probs with Rusty's skids? They seem to be pretty well priced. Is there a skid that is pretty much useless or should i get em all since i have the money?

Thanks again for everyone's help!
