i'm in the process of working out a trade. i'm looking to ship my gti out to CO and get vechicle shipped back to IL. has anyone shipped a car/jeep cross country? who did you use? how was the over all process?

My company shipped my jeep to Michigan from Kansas. The gave me a list of approved shippers and I just picked Reindeer. I was givin a contact person and all questions and set up was done threw her. Went fine. I let them know it was liffted and oversized tires and gave them measurments. The vehicle had to be completley unloaded can't have anything in the vehicle and 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gas. I did a check list of vehicle dents and any other damage before and after. Local company picked it up on a roll back and took it (im guessing to a main hauler pick up). then a local place delivered it on a roll back.
I don't know how much it cost though becausue I didnt pay the bill!

the local uhaul place will have little dent markers.

you can probably get some, put tem on the existing dents (clear stickers with little x marks) that way if any new dents show up the receiver will know the shipper did it.

I saw you working on that trade. Looks like it would be pretty sweet.

I sold my Scrambler to a guy in MS and he used a random guy on UShip. He showed up with a saggy 1500 Burb and pulled an impressive u-turn on the highway in front of my house as he left with jeep on trailer. I was a bit concerned but he got the job done.

I support that!! There's one down the road from me that I drool over almost every time I drive past it. It's not moved in the 2 years I've been here. Meganne says she doesn't remember it moving either.

just trust me when i say the trail rash was definitely on the fj when i picked it up...you just couldn't see it in the pictures

be carefull of what you offer...

i would let you wheel the piss out of it as long as nothing was broke and it still drove when it got to chicago.

damn i need to figure out if i really want to make this trade....
