I emailed Scat on the availability of a crank for the stroker and this is their reply:
Dear Chris,

We currently offer 4.2 liter inline 6 cranks. It is 9-4.2L-3895 and they go for $399. These are cast cranks and good in stock.

If I could be of any more assistance please feel free to contact me by email or by phone at (310) 370-5501 and dial extension 191.

Thank you,

Good price for a new crank.

Planning another stroker already? I wonder what price Summit Racing and Jegs will sell it for.

Nah, but I do keep an eye on my options.

Besides, this is the first I heard of anyone mentioning Scat selling new cranks. The other two options are Hesco and 505, which cost a lot more. And if we want more aftermarket support people need to buy new products. It isn't much more than one would spend purchasing a crank and having it ground. And with some of the quality on the reground cranks I have seen I wouldn't even think of buying one again.

From what I've read on building a stroker (still a newb researching), it sounds like there are different versions of the 4.2 crank, correct? One important measurement being the snout length for different pulley setups. Any idea if this scat crank has the shorter snout for using the serpentine belt setup? Would save some trouble if you didn't have to cut it down at all.

You don't have to cut it. You could use a spacer or hack up an old harmonic balancer to make a spacer. I don't know what snout length the Scat crank is.

I would be interested in some scat rods to go with that too. Any response in that department?

I didn't ask. There is a company that sells Eagle rods and a slightly cheaper rod, but I don't recall the company off the top of my head. Its on JeepStrokers though.. do a search there.

Isnt cast# 3895 the 87-90 4.2? If it is, it would be the short snouth that needs no grinding

Double checked myself and it is not I was thinking of 3727. It might be wishful thinking, but it is the highest number out of all the OEM cranks, perhaps a rendition of the last design?
