OK people, we all are well aware of the Gas price drama plaguing us all. So I have been looking at these 49cc scooters. I have a 5 mile drive to work, about 10 15 minutes depending on how slow people in front of me drive.
ANYHOW. I have been Pricing 50cc scooters. In PA you dont need a Motorcycle Licence to drive one street legal. Just a PA Drivers Licence. So I called around some HONDA dealers looking at the HONDA Ruckus. (these things are sold out just about everywhere in USA. I'm told HONDA is sold out. So youre lucky to find one at a Dealership. Its the same with the Yamaha)... I got prices between 2500$ and 2800$ Tax and Tags Out the door. This was the same Price range with the YAMAHA Zuma. Both are cool... not retro or Girly looking. BOTH GET 100 plus MPG.
I ended up Getting a Ruckus for 2500$, which considering the prices I was given, is fair... brand new right off the truck not even a Mile on it.

I have NOW found The SACHS MADASS 50 (Made in Germany)...this thing is cool looking, gets the same 100 MPG, but you can get them off ebay for under 1750$ shipped to your door.
so I'm kinda kicking myself... "I shoulda..." or " should I have?" ...It is indeed cheaper. But I'm thinking there are no Sachs dealers in my area. The honda is the one I settled on due to the fact that I have a dealership right up the road.
