Well, I got off work early Friday and had nothing to do so I headed up to the Rubicon by myself to lend a hand in Saturday's work day. I got up to the trail head at about 4:30 aired down and headed through Gate Keeper. I ran into my neighbor Paul(and a group of people) up at Ellis Creek so we hung out, chatted, and drank a few cold ones.
Saturday morning about 30 of us gathered at Ellis Creek where Del gave us the scoop on what we needed to do. We then headed up to the bottom of Walker Hill and set to work fixing an erosion area, blocking off some bypasses, and constructing some water bars. I even gave my winch a workout moving a large boulder.
After we were done I headed up to Spyder Lake with a few of the guys and we watched the show at the box.
Lots of really nice people up there working their asses off to help insure that the trail stays open.
I left Spyder Lake this morning at 6:00 and was at the dam airing up by 7:30. Also, I must say that the new section of trail that was completed last October(from the slabs to Ellis Creek) is really a nice piece of work. I know a couple of guys from here worked on that and I must say nice job!
