Rubicon Express leafs good or bad?

Looking to get new leafs, has anyone heard or had experience with Rubicon Express leafs? I was looking at the 3.5 lift leafs. Are they comparable to Old Man Emu leafs? Better or worse?

Bought a set of R.E. 3.5" springs several years ago. They would have been perfect on a dump truck, too stiff and then they sagged within a year.
Total junk.
Replaced them with a medium OME spring pack, got 2.5" and still have it and a much better ride. Wish they had a military wrap.
In a previous thread, I and others posted how the R.E. springs were stamped "made in India". Let's hope that under new ownership, their 'stuff' improves.

For the quality/cost you can't beat OME. They usually run tall, but maybe pick yourself up an OME AAL (they go nicely together, unlike most other AAL's).

mine ride great... i also have their lift shackle. honestly the only leaf ive dealt with. i didnt know they rode like poo until i installed shackle relocation brackets. now it is a caddy, deffinantly smoothed out their ride. i also have their monotubes.

it is important to note that mine are old, made in the USA. most will say that the new china leafs arent worth even considering.

My 3.5 RE springs are from 06,say made in the USA, ride and flex great but sagged within a year. I guess I'm at about 2.0 inches of lift now.

If it were me I'd go OME.

i ran 2 different re packs in my day. both were garbage and lost their advertised height within a couple wheeling trips. they eventually sagged to less than half their height and turned into an "S" shape.

There are such better leaves out there than RE's, especially now that they're pumping out Junk. They're pro-comp... which is bottom of the barrel.

Go with a better leaf, you won't regret it!

Deaver
Alcan
DPG
OME

And in that order if I were deciding.

I'd like to add that BDS also makes a great product too. Love mine!

Another "no" vote on the RE's.

The Rusty's (that were on my rig when I bought it) sagged, but at least they sagged together. My driver's RE is a good 2" taller than the pass' side, after one year and maybe 7000 miles. Even with a 1" block and a 1/2" thick flat leaf added to it, it's still got a gangsta lean.

Not really happy about it...

I've run multiple sets of RE springs from 3.5 to 5.5" and never had a sagging issue. Pretty sure they were US made versions. My current set is 3.5" with custom perches and shackle and they've been on for over 4yrs and my rigs been airborne over sand dunes at least a dozen times. My only beef is that I get axle wrap when climbing steep hills with poor traction.

That being said, next time I'm in the market for new springs, Deaver would be my choice.

I have RE 3.5" springs from 07 initially they were probably 4"-4.25" lifts and settled to 3.5" and have STAYED there. I also tow from time to time pulling light work trailers to boats and see-doos. My boat after one time towing it sagged my AAL I used to have (reason I went ahead and got the RE springs) but I have pulled the same boat several times with the RE springs and never sagged. I have installed 4 more sets of these RE 3.5" springs on 4 other Jeeps ranging in time frames of 05, 06, 2010, and as recent as Nov 2011. ALL are still sitting level and ride nicely.

RE is quality stuff and affordable. OME is the top quality but you will pay accordingly for that level of quality. Consider your budget and go with what you can afford just stay away from junk like Rough Country and Rustys.

Go w/OME. $240 for a pair of leafs. How much is RE?

I stand corrected. Last time I checked, which was some time ago, the OME were pricey but they seem to have come down to a very affordable price. JeepinOutfitters.com sells them for $132 which is a very good deal. If I were to buy new springs now I would most likely go with OME for the price and reputation.

I'm looking at a set of 3" springs from BDS. What height did you get? How high do they really sit? Are they longer than stock at all to help with shackle angle? How is your jeep set up as far as weight? Tire size? gears? The pictures on their website make it look like the springs are sort of half-way military wrapped. I'm hoping that, along with their relatively high spring rate will help with axle wrap. Do you have any issues with axle wrap?

My first set were a used set of RE 3.5" they road well and flexed great and they were purchased around '00. The next set were purchased new around '02 and performed well....; both were built in the USA. The 3rd set SUCKED....; they were built in India, were VERY stiff and the flex was terrible.
Recently purchased a set of Deavers and they are performing GREAT..., but for the price....; they should !!!
