Reverse Problem With The Aw4

Hi, I hope someone can help me, I have a Cherokee Laredo 1990, AW-4 transmission, and since five days ago I have been having problems with the reverse, first, the hose from the radiator to the transfer case was damaged and it lost about 3qt of ATF, I repaired the hose and refilled the transmission with ATF+3 as I had heard from some guys. On the third day from that the reverse didn´t works well, you know I need to press the acelerator to the bottom to back up and always with a little power and speed. Yesterday I realized that the correct ATF is Dexron/mercon so I changed it and the filter too, but the problem is still alive.

What it could be?, I will appreciatte any help.

I just called my friend at a Dodge dealer and he is not aware that the +3 would affect shifting. The +3 fluid has conditioner for the lock up cluth in the converter but it replaces older fluid from Chrysler.
Have you checked the fluid level again and does it smell burnt?
