Resale value

FlexinCherokee

First off, let me open by saying I would never ever sell my Cherokee. Well, for enough money.......anyways. We all modify our Jeeps tastefully, or not so tastefully. From lift kits, to lockers, to snorkels. The question is, if one was to sell their creation. How would you know what to ask for it? This is where centimental price and actual value collide. I am going to attach pictures and specs of my Cherokee and you tell me what you would pay for it! Just want to get a ballpark idea, if that day ever does come.

Cherokee people are broke mother****ers....

The way i see it, to make a profit selling a jeep, you need to either
1-Have MAD fab skills
2-Sell to a sucker... and if they had money they would be buying a JK...

Build your jeep for yourself to enjoy, not as an investment.

some neat mods but im not seeing over 3k, im a cheap a$$ :)

i think the neatest thing you have is working ac! makes me super jelly!

me thinks the biggest drawback is the d30-35 combo. not that i personally think its bad, but alot of axle snobs would.
just my 2c not trying to offend

it's got an auto... I don't buy auto jeeps anymore. Or for that matter XJs. I'm an MJ guy.

Mine's a rolling rotted junkheap and has more sentimental value to me than I'll ever convince anyone it's worth, so it's simply not for sale. I'd think about selling it for 4k or hand it over instantly for 6 but literally no one, not even me, thinks it's worth that much, it probably isn't worth more than 2k even to a total sucker. Anyone who's seen what's under it (and more accurately what isn't under it) wouldn't offer more than 1000 probably, if even that much.

Only reason I'd think about selling it for 4 is because I could build a replacement for 4 pretty easily, 6 no problem, in way better shape than it's in, without price shopping. And that's the very first thing I'd do upon selling it - buy all the parts to build another.

haha @kayle666 I completely agree with you, I'm building a Ford 8.8 as we speak to replace that boat anchor of a rear axle that calls itself a Dana 35. It took alot of blood, sweat and tears to get my A/C working..well, mostly blood. Nothing on it was easy, I had to flush and replace everything but the Evaporator and Condenser. If I really think hard and add it all up, I probably have about 14k in it. so 6 would probably be a solid number if I wanted it to go. I understand where you guys are coming from, there's too much sentimental value to sell. That's just how it works.

Proper method for determining the resale value of any modified vehicle:

Find "blue book" value for stock vehicle.
Add price of all "upgrades"*.
Subtract for any "damage"*.
Subtract price of all upgrades.

The result is the estimated value of the vehicle in question.

*(Damage is a separate line item then upgrades regardless of what you might think. Example: hammered out fenders for tire clearance is "damage")
