Renix without an IAC

Hey all,

I just got done installing my 73mm throttle body on the renix managed, HO based stroker. Its out of a SHO, i still have to plug a few holes, but it uses an external IAC, that i can set up if i need to, but i was thinking why cant I just not use an IAC, and adjust the throttle plate open some to get the idle i want?

The idle id like for my cam is around 11-1200 anyway, so id have to make the IAC adjustable if i set it up.

Thanks

with some more reading i discoverd that doing this will take my jeep from "idle mode closed loop", to "cruise mode closed loop".

the only difference i see is that the IAC isnt used the the shift light is added to the computer output.

unless im missing something, this shouldnt cause any issues, right?

I am running a 65mm stang tb that doesn't have a iac. I just made a plate that bolts to the iat housing from an HO tb and mounted it on the fender well. with a couple of air fittings. the intake side draws air from a small breather tube and the other side just runs to a vacume line T on the manifold. Without it the jeep died when coming to a stop intermitantly, now the computer is happy and I have an idle adjuster screw too.

Heres the thread I had on the subject a while back. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=77243
