Rattle from passenger door

When i go over rough road. Sounds like the metal bars for the door handle and door locks are banging against the plastic (though they still have their cloth sheaths on), but i'm not sure since i haven't had time to look at it.

The plastic around the door lock and window buttons is a little loose so i figured it might also be that........

Figured i'd ask if anyone has had the same rattle before i look at it.

And please no one tell me "it's not a lexus", i realize this.....

For me, it was the rod from the Lock/Unlock to the door handle.

I 'noosed' a rubber band at the middle of the rod, and attached it to some place(it's been awhile) to keep it taut.

Also, tried heavy grease at the connection points, but that didn't seem to work all that well.

Ultimately, I've resorted to keeping the stereo at '11'. :D

On my 96 with power locks, the bracket the solenoid is on rattles. It's pop rivited to the door but is not tight. Otherwise it is a Lexux!

As I recall there are supposed to be a couple of little plastic clips in the doors to support the rods on the span from the latch/lock panel to the mechanisms, and if one of those has broken or the rod is out of it the rod will rattle. I could be wrong about this, because I've had so many different rattling doors apart recently I can't keep them straight. Look also for flapping of the cable for the window mechanism, and the speaker and its wires. If you take the panel off, you will probably be able to bang on the door and find the rattle.

^not a bad idea, but the sound is unmistakably something against plastic so i think taking the door panel completely off and banging on the door would get me no where

i'll try it anyway though, thanks
