Possibly dogs available and maybe other animals

I'm going to have to confirm with my Mom inlaw first, but ever since the Sawtooth fires of 2006, she's been kinda running a shelter/rescue for dogs, horses, goats, and the occasional pony. I'll talk to her this week and see which animals are available and what they'd cost. She is somewhat picky about who gets the animals, mainly from a lifetime spent working with people's animals and seeing what many of the critters go through. So most likely either I or she would have to meet you, which would happen anyways when you pick em up. If you're local we could even possibly work out a delivery for some of them if you want a horse but have no trailer.

Anywho, like I said, I'll have to confirm with her what we'd have goin on and I will post back up here once I have more info.

I'll talk to her today. If she has anything you're interested in, we can setup a time to meet and they can do the "pre-adoption interview". They like to be sure the animals are going to a good home. I'll try and get pictures ASAP to put on here.

I'm a little confused....says adoption, but then you mention cost? Are you just referring to a small fee like the animal shelters charge? Or are we talking about "buying" the animals?

The word directly from my MIL is that there is no initial cost. You sign an agreement that you will not sell or give away the animal if you decide you don't want it. You can give it back or if you want to sell it you have to then purchase the animal from her.

Cliff notes: Keep the animal, its free. Try to sell it you have to buy it first. :)

There are two minis right now. Tiny. Bout the size of large dogs. One bay, brown with black points. The other is a paint, light brown forlock.
There're also 3 brood-mares at another person's house. They were used for breeding they're whole lives, in their early 20's now. All three are papered and haven't been ridden really ever. Good companion animals.
We also have 2 pit/rott mixes. Gorgeous brindle-ish markings. Very sweet and friendly, still fairly young. Probably close to full-grown. I'd estimate them to be around 40-50 pounds. They're in training right now to be calmer, or at least not jumping so much. :D

P.S. There is also an unpapered pure-bred miniature pinscher. I'm fairly certain he's a pure breed. He's my MIL and FIl's pet but his dander irritates my father in law's asthma so he's got to go. He's between 8-10 yrs old, and has lots of energy, but still likes to cuddle and be held as well.

These are the 2 pit mixes:

Very sweet and lovable dogs. They're being trained to heel and given some basic obedience training.

She just got a new puppy in. I should be able to get pics this weekend. He's a lab mix, very unique smoky color to his coat. Also 3 pygmy goats. One butterscotch, one brownish, one grayish. I'll get pics of them as well.
EByrd, I haven't forgotten about you..:) Are you looking for a "turnkey" horse? One that's trained and ready to ride, or do you mind having to do some training, or just a companion horse for horses you already have? All of the available horses are fairly green or there's two that are unrideable. One has a limp, the other lost a fight with a cactus before she arrived at my mother in law's and is now one-eyed. They'd both make good companion/yard horses though.
