plow pulley question

I'm still trying to figure out my plow problem. I have a plow that has a pump with a v-belt pulley but I have a serpentine belt. Anybody know if there is a place to add on a pulley, it looks pretty tight in the compartment. Also the frame of the plow is about a half an inch off of the frame rails. Should there be a gap that I have to shim? Thanks!

Kilby has a replacement pulley for the alternator that allows for addition of a York air compressor on a 2nd belt... maybe they have something similar to accomodate your plow pump?

I'm guessing that the alternator is going to be your only good option. It might be worthwhile seeing what other vehicles have for hydraulics. One of your problems is going to be finding a place to put the pump at all. Way back when, a common setup was to have the pump piggybacked on the generator, which provided not only the extra pulley sheave but also the mounting itself.

It occurs to me that I think some GM diesels have the vacuum pump piggybacked on the alternator with a double sheave. It might be worthwhile looking at that setup to see if it could provide parts.

Maybe on early 6.2's, but my '97 6.5 has everything spun by one serpentine belt. I replaced both the alternator & the vacuum pump less than a month apart shortly after the truck turned 100k miles or so.
