working with a jpeg file, can i select a color and universally replace it with another color throughout the image, or do i need a different file format. i'm using a .psd now, so that's good. then again graphic designers are probably already in bed and i'll get a dozen replies monday morning around 9:30. j/k. thanks guys

Up in the top menu you ll see where it says select .... when that drops down there is a a choice that says color select that will select every area of a certain color in the image and mask it off for you .... you may have to use "select inverse" after words depending on whatyou are doing. The select inverse thing just makes the masknig reverse so you can "paint" on what you selected instead of protecting it. and remember the undo command is your friend

Use the Magic Wand tool you select the color. If there are certain "grey" areas, then manually select the color/area using the Polygonal Lasso Tool. After you have selected what you would like to change; look under Image > Adjustments > Replace Color. From there you can slide the hue bar left or right to get the desired color. After that you can go to Image > Adjustments > Color Balance to fine tune the color. Hope that helps some.
