A great cheap mod... my dad practically owns FLEXcon, they make vinyl and pretty much every pressure sensitive decal you see every day is made by their vinyl. In fact, all auto pinstriping is, pretty much all car decals are, and the blue haze in your windshield at the top is, and even your aftermarket tints are probably FLEXcon if they're the best quality. These panels I made are extreamly durable and you can do whatever you want with them, here are a few applications, i'll post better pics when it's not raining or cold here!! these things work, and hose right off!!!
i know the saturn sl2 isnt a jeep, but the possibilities are endless.

send a pm and if you want to do some vinyl armor or stripes, we can work something out, i get the stuff relativley cheap and its no joke... 8 year out door life, this adhisive sticks... its permanent adheasive but it can come off so don't worry. i know how to apply it and everything flawlessly and i have detailed instructions, so let me know what you think? sure beats slapping heavy metal armor, this stuff is strong and is so thin, it weighs nothing.

So, what yer sayin is, this stuff will resist scraping, scratching, denting, dinging, and general Rocks&Trees Inc. Bodywork, Beating out diamond plate, steel plate, and/or ABS sheets? :laugh3:

Great idea!!!

How much for Shelby striping for my cherokee like you did on your Saturn?

That would be off the hook!

Is there any way you can figure out a way to replace my rockrails and skid plates too?

Plastic...

Why didn't I think of that?

edit: a shame the reputation feature is gone isn't it? :D

well think about it, its a plastic diblock copolymer, its tough to scratch... it really is... plus, if your hitting rocks hard enough to scratch this stuff off, your not drving very well ;-)!!! its more of a cheap mod - but thanks for commenting

this stuff is really incredible, i mean, is your cherokee logo still there after all these years!

This stuff would be good in florida with it's girly rocks but it may also be somewhat near to herucliner or one of the other liners. Could be used to hide a mulitude of stuff. As for hitting rocks, we don't hit them so much as use them for sliding round bigger rocks like a sled... :D

What if I'm hitting rocks hard enough to dent the stuff?? Come on, while the plastic stuff is fine for brush protection (to prevent all that pretty paint from chipping and scratching) it will do about as much protection for my body on the trail as clear coat does. Anyways, on the trail stuff happens and plastic is going to actually be more hassle as the little cracked, broken, peeled, ripped of pieces would have to be cleaned up so that they're not left behind as trash.

actually you are right, my whole bottom panel was scratched cuz some dick bmw opened his door on mine. so i covered that up, it was pretty bad, worse then trail rash. as for ripping and stuff, you could cut out a section and just put it back on, and still look flawless... yeah stuff does happen on the trails definitly, very good point, but whatever you dont want to scratch, you can coat with this, even the metal panels you could coat, give them a little extra life... its like a condom, for your car!

as for trash, doesnt crack, or chip, so it's just as bad as duct tape or a sticker. so clean up is fast and easy, its really cool stuff. but yeah, its not going to make your panels steel hard or anything.

So the stuff is opaque? Would it be cheaper than a paint job? I have two jeeps with the classic late 80's clear coat and paint peeling off. What colors does it come in?

Personally, I think this sounds like a slick sales pitch and less like a mod.

If you're offering to, "Work something out.", then you need to work on getting a new thread started in the Vendor's or For sale forums.

it is not opaque, some colors are, like the tint, and the blue, but it comes solid in every color under the sun pretty much. the stuff i deal with now thats the best for autos i only have black silver and white, but thats the only colors i wanted, theres a million!! even glow in the dark... i had 2 glow in the dark racing stipes last summer, those things got sun all day and at night it was like my xj was a ghost, it was pretty fun.

its not a sales pitch, anyone can go buy their own vinyl, your just gonna pay a ton for it, or a little, depending on how crappy or good you care for

i was sitting in my car at auto zone and some dick dentist totally opend his door on my car... terrible. i was like wow, hes like uh heres 100 bucks. im like ok! haha, i just hate scratches you didn't earn... but i bought HID right then and there! Thanks Dentist Morgan!

Which is it?
Are you earning the scratches and dents or are you not driving very well?

Oh I got a better solution: Herculiner. It has more then one use... and if you read through this, it's been suggested that it can also be used as a condom (I think it's buried someplace on page 5 or 6)

Plus why you wanna make it prety? I figure the uglier my junk looks the less likely it is to be stolen (redneck theft deterrent?)
