Onboard shower?

If you're getting a bilge pump then at the same boat supplier you can usually find various sized heat exchangers.

Lots of offroaders have onboard showers, as well as RV's. They sell kits, but they are like $250. Basically it's just a heat exchanger you put into your heater hose. I can figure it out myself just fine...just wondering if anybody else has done this.

if you have a manual trans and your radiator has the internal auto trans cooler - you've already got a heat exchanger on your truck. Otherwise, get a refrigerant heat exchanger on ebay for a few bucks, or wrap a copper tube around your exhaust tube

It would not be a truck mod per se, but I have buddy that uses the Coleman propane powered gizmo.
Seems to work pretty good for not only showers but also heating hot water for dishes and such. Sometimes it ran a little slow (heating speed and recovery speed at 9,000+ feet), but you just run the outlet of the shower back into the pickup buket and recirculate until you like the temp. Even works when it's COLD outside - he was in a pop up camper and used it (outside) for a couple weeks during elk season.

I saw an article in one of the mags where the guy used a diesel fuel preheater exchanger and the radiator as a heat source. If you go to an RV store you can get an on demand water pump, but I'd question whether or not the pump would would provide much suction. Most centrifugal pumps don't. A cheaper pump would work better if it were placed near the water source, rather than hard mounted on the jeep.

I made my shower with one or two mods basically after this one from Blazing Obsessions

You obviously were not at the SocalXJ jambo.
I mounted an on demand water pump that I got from the RV place for $40.
I mounted it inside that little cubby in the back right corner. brought 10 gals water for the weekend and knew I could go to town and refill if needed.
Then I had one of those camp shower thingy's. left it in the sun all day and it warmed the water some. unfortunatly we didn't get burrow off the trail and back to camp till after sundown plus 2 hours. so it got a little cold.
I set the 5gal container on the ground under the jeep and stuck a suction line into it. the other end was Tee'd with one half going to a kitchen sink sprayer and the other half going to the camp shower nozzle. I did my dishes, washed my hands often and took a shower on saturday night. it was rather nice going to bed with clean underwear on a clean ass with my face and hair washed.
I had good pressure and good flow.
I could have roughed it and stunk with crusty underwear. but I didn't have to and it only cost me about $55.
My next step is to fabricate a 5gal stainless steel H20 tank with a 1/4" skid. it will mount on the belly of my jeep adjacent to the cat converter. for a heat exhanger I might make an intermidiate exhaust pipe post cat with several coils of copper tube, with another tube sleeved over it.
then on the rear right quarter panel would go a small door with a faucet and a spot to attach a small sink.
just a though.
