odd camshaft

heres a noob question i cant answer, why does that cam have 13 lobes?

Where the arrow is, That looks to be a round, offset lobe, more and likley for a fuel pump, or oil pump. It uses a sloid rod to move something. Its for a 4 banger BTW. The gear in the middle is more and likley for a distributor.

No way could it be for a 4 banger. It has 12+1 lobes so it has to be for a straight six. The 13th lobe is probably there to drive a mechanical fuel pump. The gear in the middle is to drive the distributor.
My guess is that this cam is probably either for a carburretted AMC 199/232/258 I6, a Chevy I6, or a Ford I6.

its an amc six cam, i just had a wtf moment when i counted the lobes

yeah, all the aftermarket cams ive seen for the 4.0 have the mech fuel pump lobe, because the cams work in the 4.0 and the 4.2
