Not enough power

I have a problem with my '89 Cherokee Laredo. IF I have my radio on and nothing else it's fine, but if I turn on my a/c or use my d/c outlet it drains the power from my radio and it gets staticy. Is this a problem w/ my voltage regulator. I've already replaced my alternator and battery. What's the deal.

Well, the A/C compressor will generate some noise. What are you plugging into the outlet? If it's something like a power inverter, again, another fine source of noise.

What happens when you use the cigarette lighter? If you don't get any static, chances are that you need to install a noise suppressor on the radio.

Do you get noise on the cassette as well?

Also, loose drive belt?

what does your volt gauge indicate when you turn on multiple accessories?
does it also take a dive?

if it DOES take a dive, and you replaced the battery and alternator already.....check for a loose main serp. belt.

also check for bad grounds, especially on the battery itself

I may be mistaken but, I think I correctly recall that the voltage regulator is an integral part of the alternator, which you've already replaced . . . .
